What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device — phone, tablet, or computer — when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device on return visits and remember certain preferences or information.
Cookies do not contain personal data by themselves. They help sites work as expected, understand how visitors use them, and, where permitted, tailor content or advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
We use a modest set of cookies on the Dao website. We do not use cookies to build profiles for targeted advertising, and we do not sell data derived from cookies to any third party.
Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
Always ActiveThese cookies are necessary for the website to function. They do not store personally identifiable information. Without them, basic features such as navigation and form handling would not work reliably.
Examples: Session management, security tokens, cookie consent preference
Duration: Session or up to 12 months
Analytics Cookies
OptionalThese cookies help us understand how visitors use our site — which pages are visited most, where people arrive from, and how they navigate. This information helps us make the site clearer and more useful. All data is aggregated and anonymous.
Examples: Google Analytics page-view tracking, session duration
Duration: Up to 24 months
Marketing Cookies
OptionalMarketing cookies track your browsing activity to help deliver more relevant information when you visit other websites. We use these sparingly and only in partnership with services that meet applicable privacy standards.
Examples: Ad network reach measurement, campaign attribution
Duration: Up to 12 months
Preference Cookies
OptionalThese cookies remember choices you have made — such as your preferred language or display settings — so you do not need to set them again on each visit. They are about convenience, not tracking.
Examples: UI preferences, language selection
Duration: Up to 12 months
Your Cookie Preferences
You can adjust your cookie preferences using the toggles above, or use the buttons below. Your choices are saved in your browser and will be respected on future visits to this site.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on this site are set by third-party services we use. These services have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to read.
- Google Analytics — Used to understand aggregate site usage. Data is anonymised before processing. Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps — Our contact page embeds a Google Maps frame to help you find our location. Google may set cookies when this frame loads. Google Privacy Policy.
We do not currently use social media tracking cookies or advertising network cookies by default. If this changes, this page will be updated.
Cookie Duration
Cookies fall into two duration categories:
Session Cookies
Active only while your browser is open. Deleted automatically when you close your browser tab or window. Used for basic navigation and security.
Persistent Cookies
Remain on your device for a set period — typically between 30 days and 24 months — or until you delete them. Used to remember preferences across visits.

- Withdraw your consent to optional cookies at any time using the toggles above or your browser settings.
- Ask us what cookie-related data we hold about you.
- Request deletion of cookie data where we have control over it.
Please note that withdrawing consent for optional cookies will not affect anything you have done on this site before withdrawal.
