How we decide what a watch needs
Every watch that comes in is assessed before any service is recommended. The watchmaker looks at rate deviation on the timegrapher, listens to the movement, checks the seals and crown, and examines the case and crystal. From this, a clear picture of the watch's condition emerges.
We then share this picture with you in plain language and suggest the service level that fits. You are under no obligation to proceed with the most comprehensive option — and we will say so clearly if a lighter service will do.

Standards Across All Services
What every watch receives, regardless of service level
Written assessment before service
A condition note is shared with you before any work begins. You know what we found and what is proposed.
Secure handling and storage
All watches are stored in a locked cabinet when not on the bench and tracked through a clear intake record.
Calibre-appropriate lubricants
Moebius and Nye lubricants only. The specific oil or grease is matched to the component type and calibre.
Owner contacted before additional work
If we find something unexpected, we contact you before proceeding. Nothing additional is done without your agreement.
Service record at collection
Every returned watch comes with a written note describing what was done, what was replaced, and care guidance.
Final timing verification
A timegrapher reading is taken after every service to confirm the movement is performing within an acceptable range.
Not sure which service your watch needs?
